Uzeyir Hajibayli’s legacy featured on Russia’s Orpheus Radio
Moscow, September 18, AZERTAC
To mark National Music Day, Orpheus Radio, Russia’s state classical music station, in cooperation with the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow, has prepared a feature on the life and legacy of Uzeyir Hajibayli, the founder of Azerbaijan’s professional music.
The program highlighted Hajibayli’s major works, including “Arshin Mal Alan,” “Leyli and Majnun,” and “Koroghlu,” as well as his contributions to music education and Azerbaijani musicology. It noted that his works continue to bridge Eastern and Western musical traditions and that his birthday on September 18 is celebrated annually as National Music Day in Azerbaijan.
