Baku hosts 2nd International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of Organization of Turkic States

Co-organized by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the second International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Baku.
In his opening remarks, CAERC Executive Director Vusal Gasimli highlighted the economic potential of OTS member states and prospects for cooperation, describing trade and investment, logistics and the Middle Corridor, financial and export potential, digital transformation, and innovation as key priorities.
OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev noted that the organization’s member and observer states have a combined population of 180 million, highlighting their economic potential and the importance of cooperation for shared prosperity.
Deputy Speaker Musa Gasimli said the unity of the Turkic peoples has been strengthened by their heads of state, describing a common language, shared history, culture, and roots as key unifying factors.
The panel discussions followed, with the first panel focusing on “The Middle Corridor as a Catalyst for Regional Integration and Infrastructure-Based Development.” Participants discussed transforming the Middle Corridor into a strategic transport and economic backbone of the Turkic world by 2040, harmonizing infrastructure and customs systems, enhancing logistics efficiency, and developing regional value chains. The corridor’s role in diversifying trade routes and strengthening the economic resilience of OTS member states was also highlighted.
The second panel focused on strengthening trade and economic ties among OTS states, with discussions covering economic integration by 2040, trade and customs harmonization, reducing economic barriers, and promoting innovation-driven growth. Participants also discussed the role of the Turkic Investment Fund, digital trade, e-customs, fintech, human capital, and labor mobility.
The third panel addressed “Innovation for Sustainable Development: Policy Frameworks and Economic Transformation,” focusing on digital trade, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, data governance, startups, research cooperation, technology parks, joint innovation funds, and investment in human capital.
The panel sessions featured over 30 think tank leaders, scholars, and international experts from nearly 10 countries.
The conference brought together key stakeholders to foster long-term research networks, sustained expert dialogue, and evidence-based policymaking across the Turkic world.
