5.3 magnitude earthquake rocks parts of Pakistan

A moderate earthquake rocked parts of Pakistan on Wednesday evening. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD), the Federal Capital Islamabad and various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province felt the tremors of an earthquake measuring 5.3 on Richter scale.
As per the report of National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake jolted several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and many cities of Punjab besides some areas of Gilgit Baltistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
The tremors were also felt in Peshawar and several other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Soon after the earthquake, people in cities and urban areas rushed out of their homes and offices in fear.
As per reports, the earthquake occurred at 6:27pm with a magnitude of 5.3 and a depth of 110 kilometers. No reports of casualties or damage have been received so far from any area.
