"YOUTH FOR ALLIANCE OF CIVILIZATIONS" INITIATIVE UNDERWAY
At the action, also attended by head of the Russian representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, discussed were proposals to be focused on at the forthcoming Summit of civilizations in Madrid.
“The youth can introduce new approaches in process of settlement of conflicts, for this purpose, it has greater opportunities”, Leyla Aliyeva said. Having expressed satisfaction with conducting such forum in capital of Azerbaijan, Leyla Aliyeva noted, that the youth can play greater role in processes occurring in the world, to draw attention of world community to the solution of such questions, as problems of global warming and environment. As stated, joint efforts for solution of these problems will promote achievement of more effective results. Leyla Aliyeva expressed hope, that the Summit of Civilizations forthcoming in January next year in Madrid would comprehensively discuss and deeply study the proposals of youth on solution of the global problems.
Representative of the UN project "South-South" Shahid Huseyn in his remarks stated that discussion of these proposals would promote achievement of serious results. And in opinion of Mr. Ralph-Rene Weingaertner, the Director General of Directorate of Youth and Sports of the Council of Europe, participation of youth in these discussions could promote quick solution of the problems. Representatives of Germany, Russia, Georgia, Qatar, Luxembourg and other countries have shared views in connection with proposals under the text of the final Declaration to be accepted on results of the action "Youth for Alliance of Civilizations".
Having emphasized importance of similar dialogue, wide exchange of views among the youth representing various countries and nations, the visitors have expressed gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the head of its Russian representation Leyla Aliyeva.
