ADA hosts Conference on Mind, Society and Transformative Education
Baku, January 6 (AZERTAC). A conference on Mind, Society and Transformative Education has today kicked off at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA).
The two-day conference brings well-known education experts to Azerbaijan.
The conference is organized by ADA together with the Ministry of Education. About 70 secondary school directors, outstanding teachers and education administrators and policy makers will attend the conference.
Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijan`s deputy FM, Rector of ADA, made an opening speech to praise the Azerbaijani government`s attention to developing education in the country. Mr. Pashayev highlighted ADA`s plans, saying they include opening a secondary school under the Academy.
A keynote speech was made by Dr. Eleanor Duckworth, renowned developmental psychologist, retired Professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
The conference followed with speeches, discussions and Q&A sessions by Gopal Krishnamurthy, Co-Principal at Brockwood Park School, Dr. William Ayers, formerly Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and Founder of the Small Schools Workshop and the Center for Youth and Society, and Dr. Simon Boxley, Senior Lecturer in Education, University of Winchester.
