Azerbaijan, Asian Development Bank explore social cooperation

Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, met with Leah Gutierrez, Director General of the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Emphasizing the effective cooperation between the Ministry and the ADB, the Minister highlighted the importance of joint projects implemented in recent years.
Anar Aliyev underscored the positive outcomes achieved under the project “Enhancing ADB’s Support for Social Protection to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”
He also emphasized the particular importance of the Country Partnership Strategy for 2025–2029 in further strengthening cooperation.
The delegation was briefed on the achievements of social reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in recent years, active employment programs, and progress made in upgrading the skills of the labor force in line with labor market requirements.
Leah Gutierrez praised the successful cooperation experience gained over the past period and expressed confidence that joint efforts within the framework of new projects would continue successfully.
