Azerbaijan, Australia: inter-parliamentary ties develop

As earlier reported, member of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), head of the working group on the Azerbaijan-Australia inter-parliamentary relations Khanlar Fatiyev is visiting Australia.

In the frame of his visit, the Azerbaijani MP met with Tony Smith, the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives in Canberra.

The sides discussed the expansion of inter-parliamentary ties, as well as the development of the bilateral ties in the business, economic, social and humanitarian fields. The also touched upon the ongoing talks for settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Mr. Khanlar Fatiyev handed over an invitation letter of the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov to the Speaker of the House of Representatives to visit Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted.
