Azerbaijan, Brazil discuss parliamentary ties
Baku, May 31 (AZERTAC). Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament`s committee for international relations and interparliamentary ties Samad Seyidov has met a Brazilian delegation led by chair of parliament`s committee on foreign relations and national defense Nelson Pellegrino.
They exchanged views on a variety of issues, including bilateral and interparliamentary ties, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Seyidov said economically developing Azerbaijan became one of leading countries of the world. “Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relationship with Latin American countries, particularly Brazil.”
Chairman of the Committee characterized Azerbaijan as “a leader country of the South Caucasus”. On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Seyidov said Armenia occupied Azerbaijan`s 20 percent territories and this invasion is a huge threat to the region`s stability and progress.
Nelson Pellegrino praised Azerbaijan`s rapid economic development. He said Brazil recognizes Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and respects its sovereignty.
He said Brazil supports four resolutions of the United Nations Security Council over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Pellegrino said Azerbaijan created a friendship group, and the Brazilian Parliament would undertake the same step soon.
