AZERBAIJAN CULTURE DAYS OPEN IN GERMANY
120-strong Azerbaijan delegation led by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev is now in Germany to attend the official opening of the Azerbaijan Culture Year in Germany.
The ceremony started with the press conference of Garayev and Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov. Garayev told about the history of Azerbaijani culture and Azerbaijan-Germany cultural ties.
The week of Azerbaijani films opened later the same day. Azerbaijani filmmaker Ayaz Salayev`s “Bat” movie was shown. It aroused a keen interest of European viewers. Following the demonstration, Salayev told of the Azerbaijani cinematography.
The two-day symposium entitled “Developing Azerbaijan” commenced Thursday at the Leibniz Hall of the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. The event aims at informing the Germany public about Azerbaijan. The symposium is attended by Minister Garayev, ambassador Shahbazov, German Deputy Foreign Minister Gernot Erler, top officials and Bundestag members. Specialist for the Caucasus region, Dr. Svanter E. Cornell is to make a presentation on Azerbaijan.
