Azerbaijan-Egypt relations discussed in Cairo
Baku, May 17 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation, including Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Elman Abdullayev, employees of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan (SAM) Vugar Gasimly and Rovshan Ibrahimov has held a meeting at the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) in Egypt.
Chairman of the IDSC Yasser Ali stressed the importance of deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt.
He noted Egypt was interested in using Azerbaijan`s experience in various field.
Addressing the meeting, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev spoke of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in development of the country.
He also praised bilateral relations between the two countries in a variety of fields.
Touching upon the Azerbaijan`s Foreign Policy priorities, Elman Abdullayev said Armenian aggression poses a threat to Azerbaijan’s security.
SAM employees Vugar Gasimly and Rovshan Ibrahimov spoke about rapid development of Azerbaijan`s non-oil sector and "Azerbaijan 2020: the Vision of the Future" Development Concept.
The Azerbaijani delegation visited the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies (ACPSS) to meet with leading researchers.
Vice President of the ACPSS Idris Muhammad and former Major-General Mohamed Kadry noted that Azerbaijan and Egypt played an important role in the regions, where these two countries are situated.
Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev provided an insight into the current state of and prospects for the Azerbaijan-Egypt cooperation, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its consequences.
