AZERBAIJAN EMBASSY IN BEIJING MARKS GUAM’S ANNIVERSARY

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development, GUAM, an official reception was arranged at the embassy of Azerbaijan to China, October 10, the embassy spokesman said.

The event brought together contributors of the embassies of GUAM countries in Beijing, diplomats, Azeri students and businessmen.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Yashar Aliyev spoke of the history of GUAM, development of political and economic ties among the member states.

Touching upon the problems in region, the Azeri diplomat informed on existence of separatists actions in three member states, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova, as well as on the occupation by Armenia of the Azerbaijani lands.

Mr. Aliyev also dwelt on the conflicts in the territory of GUAM, on the discussions to be held by UN General Assembly concerning the conflicts in these areas.
