Azerbaijan, Germany discuss new areas of energy cooperation

Baku, October 2, AZERTAC

A delegation led by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German-Azerbaijani Forum Hanns-Eberhard Schleyer and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Industry, Small and Medium-Sized and Craft Trade of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia Gunther Horzetzky have visited the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.

The meeting attended by high level officials of the German "SMS group GmbH", "Class Global Sales", "WILO SE", "Vallourec Deutschland GmbH" companies discussed the new areas of cooperation in the energy sphere.

Deputy Energy Minister Gulmammad Javadov highlighted an important role of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe, and noted that TAP and TANAP projects would create wide opportunities for meeting Europe's gas demand.

Hanns-Eberhard Schleyer said TAP and TANAP projects would end West Europe`s and Germany`s dependence on gas.

They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
