AZERBAIJAN GIVES GREAT IMPORTANCE TO INTEGRATION OF CIVILIZATIONS AND CULTURES
Member of the Azerbaijan Parliament, head of the Azerbaijan delegation at the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly Asaf Hajiyev made opening remarks, wished success to the action.
Speaking of the democratic building processes and economic accomplishments Azerbaijan gained during the independent years, Asaf Hajiyev said now Azerbaijan is among the developed countries.
The orator dwelt on the exclusive role of cultural ties in bringing closer the member states. At present, organization of the dialogue of civilizations and cultures is the most actual problem, he stressed. Organizing of similar actions in Baku is Azerbaijani’s contribution to the integration of civilizations and cultures.
Then, Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Valeh Alaskarov greeted the participants on behalf of the Speaker of Milli Majlis, emphasizing necessity of exchange of the common, cultural values in development of mutual relations.
In session, MP, member of the PA BSEC education and social affairs committee member Zhala Alyeva reported on the works done for improvement of welfare of people in Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Albania, Greece, Georgia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Serbia and Armenia, to raise social well-being of population through social reforms as pensions, poverty reduction, health, etc.
After the recommendations were made, Zh. Aliyeva was elected as a reporter at the BSEC PA’s 30th session due in Tbilisi in November current year.
The Committee’s future plan of activities was approved. The next (30th) session will be held in early 2008 in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria.
