AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTER VISITS POLAND
Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security Eldar Manmudov visited Poland at the invitation of chief of Polish National Security Bureau Władysław Stasiak.
During the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Stasiak said the visit is very important in terms of developing security relations between the two countries.
Mahmudov told about democratic reforms in Azerbaijan, as well as work done to ensure security, fight against international terrorism, illegal migration, drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.
The Minister also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, and stressed it must be settled in accordance with international legal norms.
Eldar Mahmudov also met with President of Poland Lech Kaczynski.
During the conversation, the Polish President told of his friendly relations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and noted they both share the same position on several international issues.
The polish leader described Azerbaijan as a very significant country in the region, and stressed he would further support the country’s fair position on the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.
Mahmudov extended the Azerbaijani President’s greetings to Lech Kaczynski.
He expressed gratitude to the Polish government for showing fraternal and objective attitude towards Azerbaijan.
