AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT DELEGATION TO ATTEND CIS INTERPARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY’s PLENARY SESSION
Delegation of Azerbaijan`s Parliament, the Milli Majlis, led by Speaker Ogtay Asadov will leave Wednesday for St. Petersburg, Russia, to attend the 30th General Session of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Interparliamentary Assembly and sessions of the Assembly Council.
According to a Milli Majlis spokesman, the delegation includes chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission for regional issues Arif Rahimzade, chairman of the standing commission for law policy and state building Ali Huseynov, MP Ulvi Guliyev, chief of the Milli Majlis Apparat Safa Mirzayev and other parliamentary officials.
The sessions will discuss a wide range of issues, including results of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council`s work, and participation of the Council`s representatives in elections in CIS member-countries.
Akif Nasirov said Ogtay Asadov will have some bilateral meetings with President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Lluis Maria de Puig, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Goran Lenmarker, Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov, Speaker of Ukrainian Supreme Rada Arseny Yatsenyuk, and Speaker of the Moldavian Parliament Marian Lupu.
Ogtay Asadov and Chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia`s Federal Assembly Sergey Mironov will attend a ceremony to launch “Heydar Aliyev. Personality and Time” book by Azerbaijani MP Elmira Akhundova.
