Azerbaijani cellist named laureate of international competition

Azerbaijani cellist Rusalina Huseynzade, a student of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, has been named a laureate of the Sergei Taneyev International Competition of Chamber Ensembles as a member of the Noa trio in the “Piano Trio” category.
The trio also includes Russian violinist and international competition laureate Regina Pakhmutova and Japanese pianist Taisei Shigeno. In the final round, the ensemble performed a piano trio by Azerbaijani composer and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Musa Mirzoyev, as well as a trio by Sergei Taneyev.
In September this year, Rusalina Huseynzade won second prize at the Svyatoslav Knushevitsky International Cello Competition, becoming the first Azerbaijani representative to receive this distinction.
