AZERBAIJANI DEFENSE MINISTER VISITING GEORGIA
Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Safar Abiyev and his accompanying delegation arrived September 17 on a two-day official visit to Georgia.
S. Abiyev met with his Georgian counterpart David Kezerashvili. After the talks, the sides signed an agreement on bilateral military cooperation plan.
Then, Ministers laid a wreath at the monument to those who were killed for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
Later the same day, Minister Abiyev visited national leader Heydar Aliyev`s bust in Tbilisi and laid flowers at it.
S. Abiyev said the aim is to deepen political economic and military relations with Georgia.
During the trip, the delegation of Azerbaijan is expected to visit the military base in Senaki, Romanovs` Palace in Borjomi valley and meet with the Georgian President and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Safar Abiyev-led delegation of Azerbaijan is accompanied by Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Georgia Namik Aliyev.
