Azerbaijani delegation visits Colombia University and Stratfor think tank
Baku, May 3 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan (SAM) including Director Farhad Mammadov, Deputy director Gulshan Pashayeva, research fellows Kamal Makili-Aliyev and Heydar Mirza, as well as MP Asim Mollazade, and spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev have attended a round table at the Columbia University`s Harriman Institute.
In his speech at the event, Abdullayev spoke about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He said the conflict was a barrier for the region`s development. He also underlined the indifference of the international community towards Armenia`s aggression policy.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed the importance of changing the status-quo in terms of settlement of the conflict.
The Stratfor think tank hosted a seminar titled “Azerbaijan is an energy bridge of the region”.
The SAM representatives delivered lectures titled “Azerbaijan is a transport and logistics center of Eurasia”, “Geopolitical view of Azerbaijan”, and “The need of the US for strategic partnership with Azerbaijan”.
The event also featured discussions between SAM and the Stratfor think tank on prospects for scientific cooperation.
