Azerbaijani FM meets Afghan ICT Minister
Baku, June 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan Amirzai Sangin.
Mr. Mammadyarov praised the development of bilateral cooperation. He noted Azerbaijan actively supported the state building process in Afghanistan, adding the country was ready to share its experience in various spheres with Afghanistan.
He also said the visit would help identify main areas for bilateral cooperation. The Minister said there were opportunities for cooperation between both countries in the fields of higher education, infrastructure, state building process, e-governance and communications.
Mr. Sangin praised Azerbaijan`s consistent support to state-building process in Afghanistan, including allocation of scholarships for Afghan students to achieve higher education in Azerbaijan, training of Afghan diplomats at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
He also said Afghanistan was interested in further boosting cooperation with Azerbaijan across various spheres, including education, e-governance, information-communication technologies, space industry.
They also stressed the importance of continuing bilateral support within the regional and international organizations.
