Azerbaijani minister of justice meets outgoing head of EU delegation
Baku, June 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has met outgoing head of the European Union delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Roland Kobia.
The Minister praised the spirit of fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union. Mammadov highlighted judicial and legal reforms carried out in the country under President Ilham Aliyev, as well as improvement of legislation, the increase in number of judges and transparent election of them which was highly appreciated by the Council of Europe and the European Union. The Minister also touched upon work done by the government to modernize penitentiary system and its infrastructure.
Mammadov praised Ambassador Kobia`s assistance in realizing important projects in the field of justice.
The head of the EU delegation said he was pleased to work in Azerbaijan, adding effective cooperation between the country and the organization covered all areas, particularly justice system.
The Ambassador hailed mutual cooperation and professionalism of employees of the Justice Ministry. He expressed confidence that the project to Support Justice Sector Reform would be successfully implemented. The Ambassador said he would leave Azerbaijan with good impressions.
