Azerbaijani MPs attend Doha forum
Baku, May 22 (AZERTAC). Members of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Eldar Guliyev and Ilham Aliyev have participated in the international “Doha forum-2013” in Qatar.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met Deputy Speaker - Advisory Council of Qatar Issa Rubaia Al-Rubaia Al-Kuwari. They discussed ways of developing the Inter-Parliamentary relations, as well as current state of ties between the two countries, prospects of cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres. They also exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Doha Forum, the established world-class event that celebrates its 13th edition this year in presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, who presides over the opening ceremony on May 20th that kicked off with a welcoming speech delivered by Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
True to its original full title, the Forum offered a sweeping overview of issues regarding Democracy, Development and Free Trade in the Middle-East, the Arab countries and the world. More broadly, this international meeting discussed critical political, economic, social, financial, strategic and human matters of pressing concern for a region witnessing some of the most substantial changes in its very long History.
The event brought together 610 participants representing over 84 countries and organizations.
