Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev`s 90th jubilee marked in Tokyo
Tokyo, May 12 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev`s 90th anniversary has been marked in Tokyo with an event organized by the country`s embassy in Japan.
The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps in Tokyo, journalists, students, and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations.
The participants viewed a photo exhibition on national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity, as well as his role in building and developing the Azerbaijan-Japan relations.
Azerbaijani ambassador Gursel Ismayilzade spoke of the life, activity and role of the world famous politician in establishing and strengthening today`s Azerbaijan. The diplomat said President Ilham Aliyev was successfully continuing the national leader`s political course.
Ikio Ishikawa, international commentator of the Japan NHK TV channel, who interviewed Heydar Aliyev, shared his memories about Azerbaijan`s national leader.
Stressing the irreplaceable role of the national leader in Azerbaijan`s history, Ikio Ishikawa noted that Heydar Aliyev always paid attention to the press.
The event featured demonstration of a film on the national leader.
