Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation visits Belgium
Baku, June 7 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijan parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov is on an official visit to Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
The delegation is comprised of MPs Chingiz Asadullayev, Rovshan Rzayev, Fuad Muradov, Sahiba Gafarova, Asim Mollazade, and others.
Speaker Asadov met head of the Belgium-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Philippe Blanchard as part of the visit.
Blanchard hailed Azerbaijan`s interparliamentary relations with Belgium, as well as the country`s economic development and religious tolerance.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Asadov said Armenia had not yet fulfilled resolutions adopted by international organizations.
The visit also featured Ogtay Asadov`s meeting with Andre Flahaut, President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, to discuss current level of the Azerbaijan-Belgium cooperation. They also spoke of Azerbaijan`s participation in regional energy projects.
The meetings with President of the Belgium Senate Sabine de Bethune and Chair of the PACE Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok focused on expansion of Azerbaijan`s relations with Belgium and PACE.
The Azerbaijani MPs also held meetings heads of parliaments of the Flamand and Wallonia regions of Belgium.
