Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation visits Slovenia
Baku, May 20 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation has visited Slovenia on the invitation of chairperson of the country`s Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly.
Led by Elkhan Suleymanov, the delegation included MPs Fazil Mustafa, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Jeyhun Osmanli and Natig Aliyev, Minister of Industry and Energy.
On the first day of the trip the Azerbaijani delegation visited a memorial of Hero of Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzade in Chepovan.
Minister Aliyev met Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technologies Stanko Stepisnik to discuss prospects for the bilateral economic cooperation.
The Azerbaijani MPs met President of the National Assembly of Slovenia Janko Veber and members of the parliament`s foreign policy and European Union affairs committee.
The Azerbaijani delegation highlighted the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. They said the conflict saw the occupation of 20% of Azerbaijan`s lands by Armenia, while over million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
The Azerbaijani parliamentarians also had a meeting with Alenka Bratusek, Slovenian Prime Minister, who said her country was interested in expanding the relationship with Azerbaijan.
