Baku, March 16, AZERTAC
Azerbaijani pianist, laureate of international competitions, and Presidential Scholarship holder Vusala Babayeva delivered a magnificent solo concert at the London Transport Museum.
the concert program featured works by composers from various countries, written in a classical-jazz style. These pieces uniquely blend jazz elements with classical music traditions. One of the most famous pieces of all time, "Rhapsody in Blue," along with "The Man I Love" and "I Got Rhythm" by George Gershwin, "Jazz Fantasy on Mozart" by Fazil Say, "Etude No.1" by Nikolai Kapustin, as well as piano works of Azerbaijani composers, such as "Sketch" by Gara Garayev and "Azerbaijani Patterns" by Sevda Mammadli, were included in the pianist's concert repertoire.
Vusala Babayeva expressed her great pleasure in bringing the harmonious fusion of classical music and jazz to the audience: "Representing my country as a concert pianist in London, one of the world's cultural and artistic centers, and touching people through my music is a unique and unforgettable experience for me," she stated.
Showcasing a series of engaging and dynamic pieces, the virtuoso pianist created a captivating world of musical imagery, and her solo recital concluded with resounding applause and great enthusiasm from the audience.
Vusala Babayeva was recently selected as an Artist of the London Transport Museum. She is one of ten young musicians chosen for this project, all of whom are students at London's most prestigious higher music institutions.
