Azerbaijani Prosecutor General attends IAP Executive Committee Meeting

As part of his working visit to China, Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, attended the 61st Meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Shanghai.
The IAP has over 170 organizational members, including associations of prosecutors, prosecution authorities and crime prevention agencies. Together with its individual membership the IAP represents over 250,000 prosecutors in over 175 different countries and regions around the world.
Over the years, Azerbaijan has developed fruitful and beneficial cooperation with the IAP, hosting the association’s Executive Committee meetings in 2002 and 2018, and 2024 as well as the IAP’s Annual Conference and General Meeting in 2024.
Addressing the event, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, who also serves as IAP Vice President, briefed the participants about the latest legal reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, and addressed the topical issues on the agenda, also announcing nominations to the Executive Committee. Following the voting, new members of the Executive Committee were announced.
The meeting covered topical matters regarding the governance of the association, the future strategy and the expansion of the IAP’s network.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the preparations for the upcoming 31st IAP Annual Conference and General Meeting scheduled for November 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The parties also agreed to hold the 32nd Annual Conference and General Meeting in Ethiopia, in 2027.
The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from various countries.
