AZERBAIJAN’S INTERIOR AFFAIRS MINISTER MEETS OSCE SECRETARY GENERAL
Minister of Interior Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic Ramil Usubov today has met with OSCE Secretary General, Ambassador Marc Perrin de Brichambaut.
Mr. Usubov expressed his satisfaction with meeting head of OSCE, which effectively cooperates with Azerbaijan, plays an important role in creation and development of the democratic institutions in the country, and improvement of the police system.
Ramil Usubov underlined that Ministry of Interior Affairs established close cooperation and friendly relations with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to provide security in the country, protect human rights and freedoms and combat with transnational criminality. Minister noted that OSCE organized trainings and seminars on human rights protection, fighting terrorism, transnational organized crime, illegal drugs turnover, illegal migration, human traffic to improve activity of Azerbaijan’s police over the last years.
OSCE Secertary General, in his turn, said he takes pride in cooperation with Azerbaijan, which gained image of democratic state in the world and in police’s activity meeting the high standards. OSCE will further make every effort to integrate Azerbaijan into Europe, said Mr Brichambaut.
The sides shared views on other issues of mutual interest.
