AZERBAIJAN`S MINISTER OF EDUCATION MEETS GERMAN AMBASSADOR

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Education Misir Mardanov today has met with the German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Per Christopher Stancina.

Minister stressed the significance of Germany-Azerbaijan ties and the arrangements being implemented in the country by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Mr. Stancina stressed the necessity to expand relations in the education area and speed up the student exchange program.

Ambassador recalled the opening of German language center in Lankaran region, adding that the German language specialists will soon arrive in Azerbaijan to give the courses here.

Mr. Mardanov underlined that in accordance with Azerbaijan President’s decree “On education of Azerbaijani youth in abroad for 2007-2015s”, 10 students will study at the Germany’s Universities. The Baku State University will also announce the students’ admission to the German language faculty in 2007, Minister said.

The sides shared views on other issues of mutual interest.
