AZERI DELEGATION ATTENDS 2nd IAACA CONFERENCE
Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov attended the second annual conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) in Indonesia.
The conference brought together about 500 representatives from 90 countries and 11 international organizations.
President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yushoyono addressed the conference via a video link.
Fikrat Mammadov spoke of the work done to combat corruption, and the judicial reforms conducted in Azerbaijan.
He also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Mammadov said Armenia occupied twenty percent of Azerbaijan`s territory, and one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced in the result of Armenia`s aggressive policy.
Head of department for fight against corruption K. Aliyev addressed the conference on the role of anti-corruption authorities in combating corruption.
The participants decided to hold the next meeting of the IAACA Executive Committee in Baku next March.
On the sidelines of the conference, Fikrat Mammadov met with Indonesian Prosecutor General Hendarman Supandji.
The Azeri Minister invited the Indonesian Prosecutor General to visit Baku.
The first conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities was held in Beijing last year, and Fikrat Mammadov was elected its vice-president.
