AZERI DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER MEETS SLOVENIAN MINISTER OF CULTURE
Officially visiting Slovenia, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev has met with the Slovenian Minister of Culture Vasko Simoniti.
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia Fuad Ismayilov and State Secretary of Slovenia Yelka Pirkovich attended the meeting.
The Slovenian Minister spoke about the importance of development of relations between the two countries. The Minister said the inauguration of Azerbaijani hero Mehdi Huseynzadeh’s monument in Slovenia would stimulate successful cooperation.
E. Afandiyev thanked the Slovenian side for their support related to inauguration of the monument. He said such events and bilateral meetings would contribute to the promotion of cooperation between the two countries.
Then, the sides discussed the issues on possible cooperation, and the exchange opportunities between the two countries in the spheres of libraries, cinema, theatre, sculpture, music, painting and etc.
Deputy Prime Minister briefed on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as a result of which, 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territories have been occupied by Armenian armed forces and more than one million ethnic Azerbaijanis have become refugees and IDPs.
E. Afandiyev invited the Slovenian Minister to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
