AZERI EMBASSY TO KUWAIT COMMEMORATES VICTIMS OF GENOCIDE OF AZERBAIJANIS
Azerbaijan`s embassy to Kuwait held Monday a ceremony commemorating the victims of the genocide of Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians in Baku and other regions of the country in 1918.
The ceremony started with a minute of silence.
Azerbaijani students attending the courses of Kuwaiti Center for Wasatiyya Studies, as well as representatives of Azeri diaspora and employees of the embassy attended the event.
Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev spoke on the history of the genocide and barbarism committed by Armenians in the country in 1905, 1907, 1918, 1988 and 1992.
President Ilham Aliyev`s genocide-related address to the nation was read out during the event.
A declaration dedicated to the genocide was presented to Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as to diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations in the country.
Abdullayev gave an interview to Kuwait`s influential Awan newspaper.
