AZERI FM ADDRESSES UNESCO GENERAL CONFERENCE
In his speech, Mammadyarov stressed religious and ethnic diversity and tolerance have always been reigning in Azerbaijan which he said can serve as an example to other world countries.
The Azeri Minister recalled the conference on dialogue between the West and Islam organized in Baku jointly by the Rio-de-Janeiro Latin Academy and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation headed by Azerbaijan`s first lady, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.
Elmar Mammadyarov also touched on Azerbaijan`s education reforms, and noted UNESCO`s support to Azerbaijan in implementing educational programs.
The Foreign Minister also informed the Conference participants about the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenians` crimes against Azerbaijan.
Mammadyarov stressed it is very important UNESCO pay special attention to the dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On the sidelines of the UNESCO General Conference, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister held meetings with his Austrian counterpart as well as with Director General of ISESCO and Deputy Director General of UNESCO.
