AZERI SPEAKER MEETS KUWAIT-AZERBAIJAN INTERPARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUP MEMBERS
Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Ogtay Asadov met Tuesday with delegation of the Kuwait-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group at the National Assembly of Kuwait headed by Nasir Jasem Al Sani.
The Speaker said reciprocal visits play key role in developing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ogtay Asadov said his country attaches great importance to the enhancement of ties with Kuwait in all spheres.
The Milli Majlis Chairman noted Azerbaijan has a very favorable investment environment.
Asadov also pointed to Azerbaijan`s important role in providing international security.
“Today, our country is contributing to providing international security. Azerbaijani servicemen are participating in peacekeeping operations in the Middle East”, the Azeri Speaker added.
He also touched upon Azerbaijan-Kuwait interparliamentary ties, saying they are rapidly enhancing.
Ogtay Asadov pointed to the two countries` cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations, the Interparliamentary Union and the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
The Speaker informed the Kuwaiti delegation about the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Asadov expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti government for rendering humanitarian assistance to Azeri refugees and IDPs.
He also said Azerbaijan praises Kuwait`s supporting its stance on the dispute.
Head of the Kuwait-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Nasir Jasem Al Sani welcomed Azerbaijan`s rapid development in all spheres.
He noted his country is keen to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields including economy, trade and culture.
Head of the Milli Majlis Apparatus Safa Mirzayev and members of the Azerbaijan-Kuwait interparliamentary friendship group were also present at the meeting.
