AzerTAc participates EANA`s annual conference in Oslo
Oslo, May 16 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) has participated in an annual conference titled "News Agencies and Strategies for a Broader Revenue Base" of the European Alliance of Press Agencies (EANA) in Oslo, Norway.
The delegation of the AZERTAC included chief of Foreign News Desk Nadir Ismayilov and agency`s special correspondent in Germany Vugar Seyidov.
The conference was opened by Norwegian agency NTB`s editor-in-chief and CEO Pеl Bjerketvedt. Peter Kropsch, CEO of the Austrian Press Agency (APA) and EANA President, presented the conference`s agenda.
The first panel featured speeches by Global Managing Director of Reuters News Agency Steven Schwartz on “Reuters News Agency and non-media markets”, NTB`s Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director Pål Bjerketvedt on “NTB´s strategy for non-media markets” and Schibsted`s President and CEO Rolv Erik Ryssdal on “European media group Schibsted´s digital strategy today and tomorrow”.
The second session saw speeches of President and CEO of the German “dpa” agency Michael Segbers on “The changing German media market and dpa´s alliance with AP”, PA Group`s CEO Clive Marshall on “PA's diversification strategy - finding new markets for news agency services”.
APA`s CEO Peter Kropsch addressed the third session on “A joint venture for apps and digital publishing”.
At the fourth session ANSA Managing Director and CEO Giuseppe Cerbone delivered a speech on “ANSA´s strategy for increased revenue from non-media markets”, ANP`s CEO Erik van Gruijthuijsen on “ANP and the search for diversification” and BNS`s CEO Markus Nisula on “Media monitoring and the news agency business”.
On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation of AZERTAC met with their colleagues to discuss prospects for cooperation between the agencies.
