BAKU HOSTED CONCERT OF THE AMERICAN STRING QUARTET
Recently the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan in his mansion-house hosted a chamber music concert by outstanding American string quartet - Apple Hill Chamber Players.
American musicians have performed works by Schumann, Piazzola and other composers. This is the third visit of the American quartet to Azerbaijan. It should be noted that all events within the frames of the visit are funded by the US Department of State.
During their visit, American musicians will carry out master classes at Baku Music Academy, where they will choose the winner of the Playing For Peace project. The winner will be able to take part in summer music Apple Hill festival to be held in New Hampshire in 2006.
