Baku hosts Mini-Football Tournament among diplomats
Baku, June 9 (AZERTAC). The team of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has won the “Diplomacy Cup Champions Baku-2012 Mini-Football Tournament co-organized by the Embassies of Poland and Ukraine dedicated to the 14th European football championship which started in the football stadiums of the Poland and Ukraine on June 8.
The team of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has defeated the united team of the Israeli Embassy and the Azerbaijani office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with the score 1-0.
In the match for the 3rd place Embassy of Iran faced the united team of the Embassies of Italy and Germany and Iranian team won the match with the score 2-0.
The tournament was attended by the 10 teams which were split into two groups. Embassies of Pakistan, Iran, US, Russia and united team of the Embassies of Italy and Germany have competed in the fist group.
The second group included embassies of Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, united team of the Israeli Embassy and the Azerbaijani office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), united team of the Embassies of Ukraine and Poland and the team of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassador of the Poland and Ukraine Alexander Mishenko and Mikhail Labenda gave prizes to the winners after the final match of the tournament.
