BAKU STATE UNIVERSITY AND TEHRAN UNIVERSITY SIGN PROTOCOL OF INTENTION
Visiting Baku, rector of Tehran University, professor Ayatullah Abbasali Amid Zanjani and his accompanied delegation met November 13 with the teaching staff and students of Baku State University (BSU).
Rector of BSU, academician Abel Maharramov gave detailed information about the Baku State University, development of Iranian-Azerbaijani relations and significance of reciprocal visits of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Mr. Maharramov underlined that since 1922 year, Persian language and literature faculty has been functioning in BSU. Currently, over 30 teachers work at the faculty and over 1500 foreign students study here, said BSU rector.
Mr. Zanjani noted that relations of friendship are rapidly developing between the two nations. Rector also told of history and activity of Tehran University.
Later, the both sides signed protocol of intention on Universities’ mutual cooperation.
Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan Nasr Hamidi Zare and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iran Abbasali Hasanov were present at the meeting.
