BELARUS UPPER HOUSE APPROVES AGREEMENT WITH AZERBAIJAN
The upper house of the Belarusian Parliament, Council of the Republic, ratified Friday a friendship and cooperation treaty with Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Council`s Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs
and National Security Nikolai Cherginets, who submitted the bill, said it reflects Belarus` commitment to strengthen all-round relations with Azerbaijan.
Cherginets said trade between his country and Azerbaijan rose 2.5 times this year reaching 74 million dollars.
The agreement was signed this May, and covers cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of fields, including culture, education, health, industry and fight against organized crime.
The treaty was first approved by Azerbaijan`s Parliament, the Milli Majlis.
