Nakhchivan, December 2 (AZERTAC). British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Irfan Siddiq has visited the Nakhchivan State University as part of his visit to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Rector of the University Saleh Maharramov briefed the diplomat on activities of the facility.

The rector also highlighted the government attention to the field of education in the country, including in Nakhchivan.

Maharramov said the Nakhchivan State University has bilateral cooperation with 80 world leading universities.

The ambassador, in turn, stressed the necessity of developing the Azerbaijan-UK cooperation in the field of science and education.

He also spoke of the education system in the UK.
