CEC chairman meets PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan
Baku, June 13 (AZERTAC).PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt and Joseph Debono Grech have today met chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov.
Panahov noted that the Commission attaches great importance to the relations with the leading international organizations, including the Council of Europe.
The chairman informed the co-rapporteurs of the pre-election situation in the country, and highlighted the preparatory work for the presidential elections.
Panahov said all necessary work has been done to ensure active rights of citizens to vote, and emphasized that they would take all necessary steps to conduct elections excellently.
He added that all conditions were established for the media and observers to ensure full transparency as it was in previous elections.
Answering questions of the guests, Panahov gave detailed information about CEC activity in the current year and further projects.
The sides exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest.
