CHAIRMAN OF JORDANIAN JOINT CHIEFS OF STAFF ARRIVES IN BAKU
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Khaled Jamil Sarayrah arrived for a two-day visit in Baku, press service of Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported.
Upon his arrival Khaled Jamil Sarayrah laid a wreath at the tomb of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, and paid respect to Azerbaijani shahids (martyrs).
Later the same day, he met with Minister of Defense, Colonel General Safar Abiyev.
The Azeri Minister said a bilateral protocol to be signed between the two countries will open wide opportunities for development of the military cooperation.
On his country`s conflict with Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh, Abiyev said if peace talks fail, Azerbaijan will liberate its territories by any means.
Khaled Jamil Sarayrah in turn said he backs Azerbaijan`s position on the dispute.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli and Jordanian charge d`affaires in Baku Adel Adayalah were present at the meeting.
