CICA TOP OFFICIALS TO MEET IN ALMATY
For further development of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) initiated by Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan, the session of the CICA top officials will take place on 16-19 August in Almaty to prepare CICA ministerial meeting. CICA state-participants, state observers and representatives of several international organizations will attend the session.
The first summit of the heads of the CICA state-participants took place in June 2002. Presently CICA includes 16 countries such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Egypt. CICA also includes 10 countries - observers: Malaysia, the United States of America, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, the Lebanese Republic, Indonesia, Thailand, Ukraine and also several International organizations.
