CIS INTERNAL MINISTERS SIGN DOCUMENTS IN BAKU
Baku Meeting of Ministerial Council of Internal Affairs of the CIS countries has ended in Baku 7 September. On results of two-day discussions, a number of documents has been signed. Also bilateral documents between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Russia and Uzbekistan have been signed.
Summing up the Baku meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov has noted, that discussed was the circle of pressing questions of improvement and strengthening of cooperation, and made corresponding decisions on them. Defined were priority directions of interaction, and made the next step on way of consolidation of efforts to struggle against criminality, in business of maintenance of public safety.
As the Minister noted, receiving members of meeting, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has emphasized, that safety and stability are major factors of successful economic and political development of the countries. The head of state has emphasized, that "we should be ready to new challenges and threats. It is struggle against terrorism, against separatism, criminality, and organized crime. Here, without precise interaction it will be practically impossible to become successful. Experience of even the most developed countries of the world, like the most protected countries, shows, that nobody can consider itself in full safety. Therefore, combat against terrorism should carry global character. All terrorist organizations should stand before the law”.
During its functioning, CIM accepted over 70 agreements and decisions of multilateral character in various directions of operative service activity of bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Minister noted.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation General Rashid Nurgaliev has noted, that law-enforcement bodies of the CIS states CIS make efforts on escalating efficiency to prevent terrorist threat. A series of acts of terrorism, which have been accomplished lately by the international criminal groups, have once again shown necessity of constant readiness of the CIS countries to prevent the most dangerous threats of the present time.
The Russian minister informed, that in this direction, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia carries out a complex of the actions directed on revealing of channels of penetration of the terrorist groups in territory of the CIS member states, maintenance of operative readiness of antiterrorist forces and means to prevent the actions of terrorists.
