Civil Protection Agency says situation normalizing after heavy rainfall across Albania
Baku, November 19, AZERTAC
The National Agency for Civil Protection (AKMC) said Wednesday that efforts to restore normalcy in areas affected by severe weather continue, with work focused on clearing roads and restoring electricity, according to Albanian News Agency (ATA).
In northwestern municipality of Lezha, teams are working to reopen roads in Gjorm, Zhejë, and Fushë Mamurras, while a damaged road in Shpërtheth is being repaired.
In Durrës, floodwaters are receding and pumping stations are operating at full capacity.
In Shkodër, the Theth-Ndërlysaj road has been cleared, but the Ndërlysaj-Breg-Lumi segment remains blocked. Meanwhile, Elbasan and Korçë counties are seeing improvements, with clean-up efforts ongoing on several key roadways.
The Ministry of Defense and AKMC remain on high alert, ready to respond to any worsening weather conditions.
