CO-OP BETWEEN GOVERNMENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND MOSCOW STRENGTHENS
Discussed was fulfillment of the Agreement between the governments of two states about cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural areas, the course of performance of the protocol of the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Commission, trade and economic cooperation, on participation of the Azerbaijan investors in construction of habitation and wholesale - distribution center in Moscow, settlement of property questions on complex of buildings of Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic in Moscow and cooperation in humanitarian sphere.
The first vice-premier Abbas Abbasov has expressed satisfaction with the work done and has noted, that cooperation between our governments is the basic part for favorable development of trade and economic cooperation as a whole. He has noted that a basis of good mutual relations between our states, and in particular, between the governments has been founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev which today successfully is continued by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He also has especially noted the role of mayor of Moscow Juri Luzhkov who concerns to Azerbaijan warmly. A. Abbasov also informed that the level of trade and economic cooperation between our countries grows, and cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission would assist strengthening of trade and economic relations.
In turn, the first deputy mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova has expressed satisfaction with bilateral links noting that all arrangements planned within the framework of the Commission on cooperation are carried out and benefit to our peoples, and this cooperation will actively continue.
On results of session of the Commission was signed a protocol of the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Commission “On performance of the Agreement between the Government of Moscow and the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural spheres”.
The sides agreed to conduct the next sixth session of the Intergovernmental Commission in the second quarter of the next year in Baku. Also was reached an agreement on carrying out in 2005 of Days of Culture of Azerbaijan in Moscow.
Ambassador of the Azerbaijan Republic in Russia Ramiz Rizayev attended the session of the commission. Azerbaijan delegation comprised deputy minister of youth, sports and tourism Teymur Mehdiyev, representative of the ministry of economic development of Azerbaijan Elshen Mammadzade, president of the group of companies "AST" Telman Ismayilov, general director “Mosazervinzavod” Elman Bayramov.
