Committee: Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan increased by 9.5 percent

In January-July 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan's economy reached 1,098.1 manats, marking a 9.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the State Statistical Committee, the highest average wages were recorded in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communications, professional, scientific and technical fields, as well as in the transport and warehousing sectors.
As of August 1, 2025, the number of employees engaged in the national economy stood at 1,768,400 people. Of them, 858,100 were employed in the public sector, while 910,300 worked in the non-public sector.
In terms of employment distribution, 18.9 percent of workers were engaged in trade and vehicle repair, 18.1 percent in education, 13.8 percent in industry, 8.5 percent in healthcare and social services, 6.8 percent in construction, 6.3 percent in public administration and defense/social security, 4.2 percent in transport and warehousing, 3.9 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.3 percent in financial and insurance activities, and 14.8 percent in other sectors of the economy.
