Council of Europe commissioner for human rights Thomas Hammarberg today has met with the members of Milli Majlis delegation to PACE.

Ali Huseynov, Chairman of the MM standing commission for legal policy and state construction, gave detailed information on activity of Azerbaijan Parliament, laws adopted on protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as reforms being conducted in the country’s legal system.

Mr. Hammerberg, in his turn, highly valued the National Plan of Action on Human Rights, as well as the executive orders signed to improve housing of the refugees and IDPs.

Rabiyyat Aslanova, Chairwoman of the MM standing commission for human rights, deputies Gultakin Hajiyeva and Ganira Pashayeva told of the heavy consequences of Armenian’s aggressive policy, the problems of gender and protection of the invalids’ rights.

The sides shared views on other issues of mutual concern.
