DELEGATION OF GERMANY-SOUTH CAUCASUS PARLIAMENTARY GROUP VISITS MILLI MAJLIS
The delegation of the Germany-South Caucasus Parliamentary Group at the German Parliament, Bundestag, visited the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament) on Tuesday.
The German delegation first laid flowers at the bust of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the Parliament’s hall.
The delegation also viewed the Parliament’s session hall and Heydar Aliyev Memorial museum.
After that, they met members of the Azerbaijan-Germany interparliamentary friendship group headed by academician Jalal Aliyev.
Jalal Aliyev spoke of friendship ties between Azerbaijan and Germany.
He stressed quiet a number of German scientists played important role in the development of various sectors in Azerbaijan, including construction industry and creation of new technologies.
Aliyev underlined that one of such scientists is Alexander Grossheim who was one of the founders of Botanical Garden and Botanical Institute in Azerbaijan.
He also touched on the interparliamentary ties between the two countries.
Head of the Germany-South Caucasus Parliamentary Group Steffen Reiche expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.
Reiche noted his country is interested in developing relationships with Azerbaijan.
He said he believes the Azerbaijan culture days to be held in Germany will bring the two peoples much closer.
Reiche also added the process of Azerbaijan`s economic development is also closely watched in his country.
