Earthquake of magnitude 5.1 jolts many parts of Pakistan

An Earthquake tremors of magnitude 5.1 jolted many parts of Pakistan on Thursday. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), Islamabad, the earthquake registered a 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale with its epicenter between Lahore and Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located at Kharian, a city some 120 kilometers from Islamabad. The tremors were felt in many cities of the Punjab province and other areas of the country. The earthquake also shook Lahore, the second largest city of the country and surrounding areas.
Following the tremors, people came out of their houses and residential buildings in fear. So far, no loss of life or property has been reported. It may be recalled that on November 13, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Islamabad.
