Egypt felicitates Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on signing of strategic defense agreement

Egypt has felicitated Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on the signing of a strategic defense agreement during the Pakistani Prime Minister’s recent visit to Riyadh. Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, received a call from Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Egyptian Foreign Minister warmly congratulated Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement, describing it as an important milestone in strengthening partnership, trust, and cooperation.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of peace, stability, and economic progress. They reaffirmed their commitment to multilateral cooperation and expressed anticipation for substantive interactions at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session next week.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed the historic joint strategic defense agreement on Wednesday, aimed at advancing defense cooperation and strengthening joint deterrence against any aggression. The agreement was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
